Overview
Configure Sourcing Strategies allows businesses to create rule-based fulfillment logic that optimizes how orders route to locations. By defining specific conditions and ranking criteria, the platform dynamically selects the best fulfillment centers or stores for each order, minimizes order splits, and overrides default profiles to adapt to regional, international, or customer-tier requirements. How it Works
This feature provides a configurable framework within a`Sourcing Profile` to control order routing through tailored strategies:- Strategy-Specific Overrides: Sourcing strategies allow you to bypass default sourcing profile values. You can define specific parameters for a targeted
`Network`,`Virtual Catalog`, and`Max Split`values on a per-strategy basis. - Execution Control: The system manages strategy execution through a clear lifecycle and evaluation path:
- Priority: Determines the precise sequence in which the system evaluates multiple strategies.
- Status: Controls the operational lifecycle by allowing you to activate, deactivate, or retire (remove from the
`Sourcing Profile`) a strategy. - Sourcing Conditions: Defines the business rules that must be met for a strategy to apply to an inbound order.
- Location Ranking: You assign, sequence, and configure multiple execution parameters (
`Sourcing Criteria`) within each strategy to evaluate and rank eligible fulfillment locations automatically.
Who is This Feature For?
This feature is best suited for:- Operations and Supply Chain Managers who need to control fulfillment rules, limit order splits, and prioritize specific store or warehouse groups.
- E-Commerce Logistics Teams responsible for managing complex distribution setups across multiple regions, countries, or distinct customer segments.
What Problems Does it Solve?
- Reduced Shipping Costs: Setting precise
`Max Split`values prevents orders from breaking into too many separate shipments, protecting profit margins. - Fulfillment Agility: Overriding profile defaults with strategy-specific networks and virtual catalogs allows your logistics teams to adjust routing rules instantly without rebuilding core profiles.
- Centralized Governance: Managing strategies via priority sequences and lifecycle statuses ensures consistent, automated routing decisions that align with real-time business constraints.
- Optimized Location Utilization: Ranking fulfillment facilities through tailored criteria ensures the platform routes orders to the most efficient inventory nodes first.
