Steps

Step arrow right iconOverview

Now that you have created your B2C Retailer with the Fluent CLI, its time to configure the essential modules.

What are reference modules?

Reference Modules are downloadable assets provided by Fluent Commerce designed to provide reference artifacts that you can use to create your own solutions. While Extensions contain entire solutions within themselves, Reference Modules provide Domain Artifacts that can be used to speed up building your solutions.
Before modules can be installed on your retailer, they must be configured to match your specific business requirements. Module configuration is the critical step that bridges the gap between generic, out-of-the-box functionality and your retailer's unique operational needs. Now that you've successfully created your retailer using the Fluent CLI, you're ready to configure the core modules that will power order management and inventory operations for this retailer. The Order and Inventory modules are two of the most critical Reference Modules in Fluent Commerce, they form the operational backbone that enables order routing, fulfillment planning, and real-time inventory visibility across your business.

Step arrow right iconGenerate the configuration files

Let's generate your configuration files

Run the following commands to generate the configuration files for the Order and Inventory Modules.

`fluent module config order --retailer b2c --profile <your profile>`

`fluent module config inventory --retailer b2c --profile <your profile>`
This will produce new module configuration files in the current working directory:
  • module.config.b2c.order.json
  • module.config.b2c.inventory.json

These files contain all the settings for your modules. Next, you'll customize them to match your business requirements.
