Overview
The Adobe Commerce Connector provides a swift, configuration-based integration that instantly enables all essential features you can expect from a modern OMS.
Detailed Technical Description
The key features provided by the connector required to make the Adobe Commerce Fluent integration valuable to clients, partners, and developers include the following:
Master Data synchronization
- Product and category synchronization from Adobe Commerce to Fluent
- Configurable and Simple product types will be systematically synchronized, thus creating or updating Standard and Variant product types in Fluent OMS.
- Categories from the Adobe Commerce catalog will be systematically synchronized, thus creating or updating default categories in Fluent OMS.
- Store Locator (=sources) synchronization from Fluent to Adobe Commerce
- Locations set up in Fluent OMS are created/updated in Adobe Commerce. It is possible to select which locations/sources are enabled for the pickup In-Store option via configuration. The Sources in Adobe Commerce translate to the Locations belonging to the network in Fluent, and the location's name will be a part of the config.
Inventory synchronization
- Aggregated inventory (= total stock for a variant across all locations) for all the variant products is synchronized from Fluent to Adobe Commerce.
- The aggregated stock for a variant is held against a virtual source in Adobe Commerce that is set as part of the configuration. This stock value is used to display availability on the product listing pages (PLP), and on the product detail pages (PDP) when the variant product is selected.
- Real-time availability checks via direct API connection between Adobe Commerce and Fluent
- On the Product Display Page (PDP), a real-time Fulfillment Option request is sent each time a variant is selected to show the exact availability for that variant. When the Home Delivery (HD) or Click and Collect (CC) is selected, a real-time view of availability and ETA for the selected address or pick-up location is displayed.
- At checkout, a real-time fulfillment option request is sent at each step of the checkout to present the correct delivery or pick-up options for the entire cart as well as to validate availability and ETA till the final order placement (purchase)
Customer order synchronization & orchestration
- Customer Orders are synchronized directly with Fluent (real-time) once the customer completes the checkout.
- The extension enables two types of orders: Home Delivery (HD), Click and Collect / BOPIS (CC). The order sync first checks if the customer already exists in Fluent; if not, it creates it first.
- The default sourcing strategy is looking for the closest location to the order destination.
- Split fulfillment is enabled.
- For BOPIS orders, if there is no or partial availability at the pick-up location, a stock transfer is enabled from the closest location to the pick-up location for the missing items.
- For Home Delivery orders, if there is only partial availability anywhere in the network of active locations, multiple fulfillment and separate shipments are created from the various fulfilling locations.
Order and Fulfilment status synchronization, shipment & invoice creation
- Order and fulfillment status is synchronized from Fluent to Adobe Commerce
- The order fulfillment is driven by a configurable workflow dependent on the order type (either HD for home delivery or CC for click & collect/BOPIS) in Fluent OMS. Order can be picked and packed at any configured location using the Fluent Store web app or any other system (that would require integration with Fluent OMS).
- When order fulfillment is ready for shipping or pick-up, the status for this order is then synchronized between Fluent and Adobe, and both the associated invoice and shipment are created in Adobe based on the equivalent Fulfillment details in Fluent. It is configurable in Adobe for what fluent status, shipments, and invoices can be created.
- Customers can see the updated order status and shipment details in Adobe Commerce.
