To support these capabilities within existing inventory ingestions, the
UpsertInventoryQuantity
rule has been enhanced to persist additional Inventory Quantity attributes when Inventory Quantities are created or updated.

This enables retailers to capture extended stock metadata - such as supplier details, manufacturer batch number, country of origin, association references, and other segmentation attributes - directly on Inventory Quantities without changing existing ingestion patterns. By allowing these attributes to be stored as part of inventory processing workflows, retailers can begin enriching their inventory data pipelines with segmentation-ready data.

📢 Future Development Announcement

The improvements highlighted above extend the Inventory Reference Module so that richer Inventory Quantity data can be captured and retained as part of inventory ingestion. This supports the broader Future Inventory and Stock Segmentation direction, which is designed to help businesses differentiate stock for the same product and location by attributes such as supplier, condition, sales channel, manufacturer batch number, and future availability.

This release focuses on storing the additional Inventory Quantity attributes introduced in the updated inventory data model. In future, these foundations are expected to support richer reference workflow patterns for segmented stock, future inventory, and more fine-grained availability scenarios. Examples include working with stock grouped by source or allocation, tracking expected deliveries, and supporting availability views over time.

Platform Security Updates - May 2026

Implemented routine updates to maintain the integrity and security of our software.

Introducing Data Model and GraphQL APIs for Future Inventory and Stock Segmentation

Future Inventory and Stock Segmentation extend Fluent's Inventory and Virtual Catalog data models to support more granular, real-world inventory scenarios.

Stock Segmentation enables multiple logical inventory records for the same product and location, each distinguished by explicit, queryable attributes such as country of origin, expiry date, manufacturer, manufacturing batch number, supplier, and sales channel. This supports scenarios including regulatory compliance, product recalls, batch traceability, and channel-specific availability.

Future Inventory extends the inventory model to represent stock that is not yet physically available but is expected to arrive at a known point in time. It enables reservation and availability decisions against inbound stock using explicit dates and quantities, supporting pre-orders, wholesale commitments, and forward inventory planning.

Both capabilities build on the existing inventory model and are designed to work independently or in combination, depending on the business scenario.

Key Benefits

🎯 Eliminate Custom Inventory Modeling Model complex inventory scenarios (batch traceability, expiry management, channel allocation, future supply) directly within the platform data model, reducing reliance on custom attributes and bespoke development.

📦 Enable Pre-Orders and Forward Commitments Accept customer orders and wholesale commitments against inbound purchase orders before stock is received, with accurate, reservation-aware availability queries as of any future date.

📊 Gain Forward Inventory Visibility Query Available-to-Promise quantities as of any future date, accounting for on-hand stock, all expected inbound arrivals, and all reservations already committed against those quantities.

🔍 Trace Fulfillment to Batch Level Anchor reservations and sales records to the specific batch or segment they were fulfilled from, enabling precise traceability for quality incidents, audits, and regulatory reporting.

⚡ Accelerate Recall Response Isolate recalled batches immediately by manufacturer and batch number, preventing further fulfillment of affected units while maintaining availability of unaffected stock.

Safer Wave Picking Exit, Returns Load Fix, and Reliable Bulk Actions

This release improves stability across three areas of the interface.
A key enhancement introduces device-specific default context configuration for both store locations and retailers. IT teams can now assign a fixed default context to a device, independent of the logged-in user. This reduces the risk of users interacting with an incorrect store or retailer and improves consistency across shared devices.

Relative date filtering enables users to quickly narrow results to recent time periods, such as the last hour, the last 24 hours, or the last 7 days. Optional configuration of default relative timeframes pre-populates commonly used time ranges in the filter, reducing repetitive input and improving workflow efficiency. This enhancement can be utilized wherever date-based filtering is available.

This release also resolves an issue where time values inside date filters could unexpectedly reset while the date picker remained open. User-modified values are now preserved unless intentionally changed, improving reliability across desktop and mobile browsers.

Additional refinements improve visual consistency and usability. Large product images in the Fluent Store now scale proportionally within modals, ensuring full visibility without clipping. The platform also introduces improved support for safely handling encoded URL values across integrations, enabling more consistent and reliable parameter management when constructing application links.

Together, these enhancements improve accuracy, configurability, and day-to-day efficiency for store associates, operations teams, and integration partners.
